About me
My name is Jozef (nickname Drako) and I started with tattooing some when in my twenties. In my country at that time there were no professional tattoo devices, tattooing was performed by home-made needles. After I met professional tattoo artist Darin Lawrence from the States, who repaired my first tattoo, came a breakthrough in my perception of tattooing. When I saw that tattooing can be performed at a completely different level (with special colours and single-use gloves) I could not get it out of my head. When I came home, I threw away my hand-made equipment and said to myself: “Either I would be tattooing at the professional level, or I would not do it at all.”
So that was the beginning of my tattoo artist’s career. In 1994 I bought my own device and I become the first professional tattooist in Košice. The first tattoos were created in my private flat in Košice. After obtaining necessary certificates and permissions I have opened the first official tattoo studio in Košice. Studio has moved several times. At the beginning it was situated at the periphery of the city, later in the city centre that was for a long time my last workplace in Slovakia.
In 2005 I moved temporarily to England where I was working in professional tattoo studios in Canterbury and Bromley for the next three years.
Nowadays I am continuing my professional tattoo carrier back to Slovakia. I have am “base” in Bratislava, but I am able and ready to travel to a client if he/she wishes so also in the other regions of Slovakia. I can visit my clients also personally, as I know (due to my long-term experience and working with people) how difficult can it be sometimes to find the courage and visit to a tattoo studio. This is why I can offer my clients, to have a tattoo done in the comfort of their homes or other familiar and comfortable surroundings. I own complete professional equipment of the tattoo studio (sterilised instruments, original single-use stainless tattoo needles and certified tattoo colours) including all necessary certificates. I do guarantee 100% sterility and hygiene. All my clients are however warmly welcomed also in my premises in Bratislava.
At my profession I am focused on creative side of tattooing and I make all efforts that each client leaves with an original art piece and maximum satisfaction. Design of tattoo can be chosen from my own tattoo-designs gallery, or found at internet, or brought picture (photo) from private collection, or could be just a fantasy that I would realised accordingly. I prefer client’s creativity, but I will realise any wish and selected design. I do of course also freehand technique. For an inspiration and to get know my work there is a gallery of my tattoos.
